Swansea City forward Andre Ayew has expressed his confidence in his side extending their unbeaten run to four matches when they welcome Millwall to the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Steve Cooper's side are currently sitting fourth in the Championship table as the international break comes to an end, with the Swans entering the Millwall clash after collecting an impressive seven points from their last three matches.

They used a narrow 1-0 victory over bitter rivals Cardiff City as the catalyst to their recent upturn in form, while their last two matches have seen them score injury-time goals to seal a 2-1 victory over Wigan before a 2-2 draw against Sheffield Wednesday.

Ayew has been an essential part of Swansea's improved form of late with Cooper having recently moved the Ghanaian to lead his side's attacking line, and he has produced a string of strong showings by severely stretching opponents' defences.

The 29-year-old, who is Swansea's joint-top goalscorer with six efforts to his name, has now claimed the Swans have enough quality to secure a result against Gary Rowett's Millwall side on the weekend, despite the fact it will be a tough encounter.

"We will prepare properly. We’ve had good results in our last three games so we must make sure we hit the ground running again," he told the official club website.

“We want to try to get a good win at home against Millwall. It’s going to be a hard game but, with the quality we have, I’m confident we can get a result."

This is a statement that will come as encouraging news for Swansea fans, as it is clear that their side is high on confidence following their latest run of positive results, and it is the first time this has been the case since back in August.

Swansea started the season in extremely positive fashion following five victories in their first six matches, but their form then somewhat dropped off for a number of weeks before the Cardiff match saw Cooper's side regain their confidence.

Ayew's latest comments now suggest Swansea feel very much capable of beating any side in the division, and the Millwall match presents an ideal opportunity for the Welsh side to seal back-to-back successes at home after stuttering form at the Liberty Stadium so far this term.

All three of Swansea's league defeats since Cooper's appointment have come on home soil, but supporters will now feel optimistic the Swans can put this disappointing home form firmly behind them when they host the Lions.
