Swansea City will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to four matches when they welcome Gary Rowett's Millwall side to the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Steve Cooper's side collected seven points from their three matches before the international break, with their last outing seeing them secured a hard-fought point against Sheffield Wednesday courtesy of Ben Wilmot's late effort.

The Welsh side are now sitting fourth in the Championship table following this positive run of form, with Cooper's men having seemingly put their concerning run of results from September and October behind them.

The fact Swansea only managed to collect one victory in seven league matches across these two months prompted Cooper to make significant changes to his side ahead of the derby clash with Cardiff, and he has now persisted with the same starting line-up since.

This has seen him leave a number of key names out of the side including the likes of Connor Roberts, Borja Baston and Jay Fulton, with the latter having now played just eight minutes in the last three games.

This comes after the Scot started each of Swansea's opening 11 league games alongside captain Matt Grimes this term, but he now appears to have been replaced in the side by George Byers who has been in fine form for the side.

There can be no denying that Fulton has provided a solid midfield presence for much of the campaign so far, but Swansea fans will surely be pleased that Cooper has made his tactical switch given that Byers has look much more effective in recent weeks.

Fulton is capable of delivering sturdy midfield performances, but Byers possesses an added element of creativity that makes Swansea more capable of launching attacks from deep with him on the pitch.

The midfield partnership between Grimes and Byers excelled under former boss Graham Potter towards the end of last season, so supporters must be pleased that Cooper has finally discovered the benefits of the combination this term.

It will be interesting to see whether the Swansea boss now decides to stick with this system for the foreseeable future given the success it has brought, but it seems fairly certain Byers and Grimes will continue their partnership on the weekend.
