A trio of Championship clubs are interested in Red Star Belgrade goalkeeper Milan Borjan, according to Sky Sports News.

Borjan is being eyed by recently relegated duo Swansea City and West Bromwich Albion, with Bristol City also keen.

The trio are considering making offers for the 30-year-old, who has been with Red Star since 2017.

In his career, the Canada international has played in a number of countries, representing Quilmes in Argentina, Sivasspor in Turkey, Vaslui in Romania, Ludogorets Razgrad in Bulgaria, Korona Kielce in Poland and three Serbian clubs in Red Star Belgrade, Rad and Radnicki Nis.

The towering 6ft 5in goalkeeper has also won 38 caps for Canada - the country which he emigrated to after living in Belgrade as a child.

Swansea are hoping to bring in Borjan as an immediate replacement for Lukasz Fabianski, who yesterday departed to join Premier League side West Ham United on a permanent deal.

But they face competition from Bristol City and West Brom in this pursuit.

West Brom yesterday released Boaz Myhill, opening up a vacancy for a back-up goalkeeper to Ben Foster - or even someone who might replace him between the sticks.

Bristol City are also keen after releasing Luke Steele and they want a Frank Fielding upgrade.

The Verdict

Borjan has Champions League experience and is a man mountain of a goalkeeper.

Also, the fact that he has moved to many different countries in his career means that he will not be intimidated by a switch to England.

At the right price, this could be a good addition but there are plenty of other goalkeepers available at the moment who could also be eyed.
