Championship side Swansea City are likely to demand a £20m transfer fee for Joe Rodon after learning of interest from the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Sheffield United.
22-year-old Rodon has cemented himself this season as one of the league’s top performers, playing consistently well at centre-back for the Welsh side.
Developing through the Swans various youth sides, Rodon was sent out on loan to Cheltenham Town in January 2018 to gain first team experience, and he has since returned to the Liberty stadium and impressed.
Such good performances have not only seen him gain four international caps for the Welsh national side, but Rodon is now expected to be subject to summer bids from the aforementioned Premier League trio.
Sheffield United were originally linked with a move for Rodon last year, but remains to be seen what sort of budget Chris Wilder will be given in the summer transfer window.
Swansea, who will undoubtedly do all they can to keep the defender at the club, are expected to put a £20m asking price on his shoulders.
Rodon is certainly a big and growing talent, but if he is worth £20m yet, is another question.
You can’t blame Swansea for putting a big price tag on his shoulders though, especially if United and City are interested, but whether either of those will pay that amount for an un-established Premier League player is up for debate.
It will certainly be an interesting summer for the club and Rodon…
