Swansea City are battling for promotion to the Premier League once again this term, having reached the play-offs last season.

That was Steve Cooper's first season in charge at the Liberty Stadium and the impact that he has made so far has been hugely impressive.

It's no surprise that he's been linked with Premier League jobs, given how well he's done at the club so far.

The Swansea job was Cooper's first in senior management but he has a lot of experience coaching younger players and up-and-coming talents have certainly flourished under him during his time with the South Wales club.

The Swans have got a good record giving youth a chance – whether that's players they've developed or brought in from elsewhere – and that is our focus today.

We've scoured Transfermarkt's records to compile a list of Swansea City's top 10 youngest ever goalscorers. How many of them did you know?

The Chelsea loanee joined the Swans on the back of a 2016/17 campaign that had seen him fire in goals at Bristol City.

Abraham didn't manage the same sort of success in the Liberty Stadium – scoring eight times in 39 appearances for the Welsh club – but he opened his account fairly early on in his stay.

The striker was 19 years, 10 months, and 20 days old when he started the Swans' EFL Cup game against MK Dons.

Paul Clement's men comfortably beat their lower league opponents and Abraham scored for the first time for his new club as they confirmed their place in the next round with a 4-1 win.

Another Premier League striker that has had success while on loan at Swansea, Rhian Brewster's first goal for the South Wales outfit is the most recent one on this list.

Brewster joined the Swans on loan from Liverpool in January 2020 and hit the ground running, scoring in just his second game for the club.

The forward was 19 years, 9 months, and 17 days old when he found the net for the first time in a Swansea shirt, scoring in a 2-1 win over Wigan in the Championship.

10 more goals would follow before he returned to Anfield and subsequently joined Sheffield United last summer.

Before he was at Tottenham, Ben Davies cut his teeth at Swansea.

The Welshman came through the Swans academy system and made 85 appearances before he was snapped up by Spurs in 2014.

He scored just three times for his boyhood club, the first of which came in his first full season with the first team squad – 2012/13.

On the 13th of January 2013, Davies scored his first professional goal at the age of 19 years, 8 months, and 26 days old in a 3-1 win against Stoke City.

Jonathan de Guzman scored a brace as the Potters were brushed aside at the Liberty Stadium with Michael Owen netting a late consolation goal.

The only player on this list that still plays for Swansea, Yan Dhanda scored his first goal for the Welsh club in August 2018

The attacking midfielder has featured regularly for Steve Cooper's side this term but last season was the first one in which he contributed significantly.

Dhanda joined from Liverpool in July 2018 and scored his first goal for the Swans a month later.

At the age of 19 years, 7 months, and 21 days, he came off the bench and made an instant impact by scoring the winner in a 2-1 victory against Sheffield United.

Joe Allen may be most famous for his spells at Liverpool and now Stoke City but he came through at Swansea City.

The midfielder was born in Carmarthen and is a product of the Swans academy – making his debut in the 2006/07 campaign.

Allen had to wait until the 2008/09 season to score his first goal for his boyhood club, however, and he was 19 years and 22 days old when it finally came.

The Wales international came off the bench and put Swansea 2-1 up in the 88th minute of the game against rivals Cardiff City, though unfortunately for the teenager Ross McCormack grabbed a late equaliser.

Equal fifth on the list is Paul Anderson, who joined the Swans on loan from Liverpool in July 2007.

Anderson will likely be a familiar face to fans of the EFL, having made more than 350 combined appearances in the Championship, League One, and League Two.

The winger made a fantastic impact for the Swans, scoring 10 times and adding nine assists before returning to Anfield.

His first goal for the club came when he was 19 years and 22 days old in a 2-0 victory over Walsall in the EFL Cup in August 2007.

Jason Scotland grabbed the other goal as Roberto Martinez's side secured their place in the second round of the competition.

Frank Nouble's spell with the Swans was very brief, lasting just a month and 10 days in the 2010/11 season but he still managed to find the net.

The forward scored just once in his six appearances for the South Wales club but it was a very useful goal, helping his side beat Watford 3-2 at Vicarage Road on the 28th of September 2010.

Nouble was 19 years and 4 days old when he grabbed his first and only goal for Swansea, coming off the bench and making an instant impact as he found the net within a minute of being introduced.

The Manchester United academy product joined the South Wales club on loan in January 2008 and it didn't take him long to open his account for the Swans.

Brandy made his debut against Port Vale but his first goal came a week later away at Doncaster Rovers.

Swansea hammered their hosts at Keepmoat Stadium and the on-loan winger came off the bench to score the fourth in a 4-0 win at the age of 18 years, 11 months, and 21 days.

In total, Brandy scored three goals across two separate loan spells with the Swans and never got his chance to feature for the Man United senior side.

The oldest goal on this list, Darren Gale is the second youngest goalscorer in the club's history having found the net at the age of 18 years, 11 months, and 4 days old in September 1982.

Gale started alongside Jeremy Charles and Alan Curtis in the Swans forward line for the second leg of their UEFA Cup Winners' Cup first round tie against Maltese club Sliema Wanderers at the national stadium Ta' Qali.

The Swans hammered their hosts 5-0 with their teenage striker getting in the goals, bagging a brace and writing his name into the club's history books on the way.

The centre-back was hardly known for his goalscoring exploits, in fact, he only found the net once during his time at Swansea.

That goal came during the 2003/04 League Two campaign with Richard Duffy just 18 years and 17 days old – making him the club's youngest goalscorer and top of this list.

The Wales international started at centre-back as the Swans hosted Macclesfield Town at Vetch Field in September 2003 and it proved to be a near-perfect game for the young defender.

Not only did Duffy help his side keep a clean sheet, he scored Swansea's second goal on the eve of half time in a 3-0 win.
