Swansea City star Yan Dhanda has revealed the reason behind his recent form across the last few games in the Championship as the Swans look for a spot in the play-offs.

The midfielder has scored two goals and got three assists during 2020 so far as the 21-year-old has become undroppable across recent weeks for Steve Cooper.

Often being used in the midfield three or on the left of the three-man attack behind the lone striker, Dhanda netted against Derby County at the weekend as he charged forwards with the ball and managed to place his shot into the bottom corner to make the scores 1-1.

However, Dhanda's third goal of the season was unable to get the Swans all three points.

Speaking to the official Swansea website, the youngster said: "Like I said before, I have to take my chances when they come and I can only do what is in my control.

"I just have to play to the best of my ability and score as many goals as I possibly can. I can only take care of things that are in my control and my performances are in my control.

"Dribbling with the ball and taking shots are things that I would say I am good at and enjoy doing. When I get the opportunity I try to do it as much as possible.

"When I get my chances, I just have to play like I know I can play and do what’s in my control and then the rest is up to the gaffer.

"For me, I just give my best and enjoy myself when I am on the pitch and that is what I have been doing."

The midfielder arrived at The Liberty Stadium in the summer of 2018 as he joined from Liverpool however his first season in South Wales didn't go to plan with just six appearances across the campaign.

He has already been able to double the amount of games played this season and been hitting the net on a more consistent basis.

The Swans host QPR tomorrow as they look to get closer to the play-offs.

Dhanda has been taking his Swansea opportunity so far this season and is rightfully happy with his individual performances.

The midfielder has shown that he is able to mix it with the best at Championship level across the last couple of months and has firmly cemented himself in the plans of manager Cooper going forward.
