Sky Bet Championship side Swansea City will demand around £2million from clubs interested in appointing manager Graham Potter in the summer, according to reports from the Sun on Sunday (05/05, page 59).

The 43-year old has endured a hugely impressive debut season in the Championship with the Swans, guiding them 9th spot in the league standings under a limited transfer budget.

After a hugely impressive tenure at the Liberty Stadium thus far, it is believed that West Bromwich Albion and Celtic are both looking to hire the former Albion defender, as they look to find permanent successors for Darren Moore and Brendan Rodgers respectively.

But, in order to fend off interest from the Baggies and the Scottish champions, Swansea are set to demand a price of around £2million from clubs who are interested in stealing their manager.

Potter recently laughed off interest from the likes of Celtic and Albion, as he looks to prepare his squad to go one step further in the Championship next term.

The Verdict

I have my doubts about this - is £2million really enough to fend off interest for Potter?

Let's face it, if either Celtic or West Brom really want Potter in the summer, then they can more than afford to pay £2million and they will see it as a worthwhile fee if he's the man they desperately want.

He has done an excellent job in his first season in English football, given the off-field circumstances at the Liberty Stadium. Swansea need to keep hold of him, that's for sure.
