Ryan Bennett has signed a contract to join Swansea City and the deal will be finalised once Joe Rodon completes a move to Swansea City.
The Welsh international has been the subject of interest from Spurs since the international deadline passed earlier this month and it appears as though Jose Mourinho is finally set to land the 22-year-old.
With Rodon having been an ever-present for the Swans this season, he will be missed and the club have moved swiftly to ensure a replacement is ready to go in Bennett.
Football Insider have claimed the Wolves centre-back has agreed terms and actually signed a contract meaning everything has been agreed between himself and the Championship outfit.
Now, they will wait until Rodon has done similar with the Londoners before rubber-stamping the moves.
Bennett, who has been promoted from the second tier twice before, will bring plenty of experience to this young Swansea side and he is the second player to leave Molineux for Swansea after Morgan Gibbs-White signed for Steve Cooper’s men on loan.
This is very sensible from Swansea and the fact Bennett has signed a deal indicates that they expect Rodon to join Spurs even though it’s a late one.
Losing the talented youngster is a blow but the club have brought in a replacement who knows exactly what the Championship is about.
Bennett will be a good organiser in the back three and his know-how and experience could be crucial as the Swans look to win promotion this season.
