Swansea have had a very good start to the new campaign and currently sit fourth after 15 games of the new season.

Since Steve Cooper has taken over at the Swans he seems to have made them a group that is together and one that can override problems they face but as a team.

Many thought that during their poor form throughout October that they would slip away, but they have bounced back expertly and picked up two crucial wins, one against their rivals Cardiff and the other in the last minute away at Wigan.

The results mean that the Swans sit just two points off the top of the table, and they have a number of squad players available to them who are eager to make a difference to the current campaign.

One of those players is Sam Surridge. The forward scored the all important winner in Wigan on Saturday, and he'll be hoping that his goal can spark a run in the side for himself.

He's been on the periphery of things this season, and has mainly been used as a substitute coming on either when the side is a goal down, or for Borja Baston. This has meant that he hasn't had as many chances as he'd have hoped for in the team, but his header on Saturday might well be the turning point for him.

At just 21-years-old, obviously he has a lot of time to play football, but he needs to continue to develop and get that crucial experience. As a back-up striker it can be hard sometimes, but he's shown that when he gets a chance he's going to grab it with both hands.

With Borja's current form questionable, there's no better time than now to put Surridge in the team. His confidence will be through the roof and for a youngster you can't ask for anything more.

It'll be interesting to see who Cooper picks to start on the weekend against Sheffield Wednesday, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him give Surridge his opportunity from the start.
