Championship promotion hopefuls Swansea City are looking to tie down defender Joe Rodon to a new contract as Manchester City lurk.

According to the Bristol Post, the Premier League champions are keeping their eye on Rodon, who caught the eye last season during a spell with Cheltenham Town, and is highly thought of by the coaching staff at the Liberty.

And now it looks like the Swans are looking to keep hold of their key young defender with a new deal, and will be hoping that City move on to other targets as they continue to pursue the top young talent in the country under manager Pep Guardiola.

20-year-old Rodon has been a regular for the Wales under-21 team and will no doubt have caught the eye of a number of onlooking scouts with his performances and ability.

Swansea have made a decent start to life in the Championship under new manager Graham Potter, and Rodon will be hoping to become a key figure for the club in the coming months and years if he does indeed stay put amid City's interest.

Swansea fans, how good is Rodon? Would he be worth keeping or selling? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
