Swansea City have been given a fitness boost ahead of Saturday's encounter with Nottingham Forest with Joe Rodon returning to training, according to Inside Wales Sport.

The 21-year old sustained an ankle injury before the international break in the Swans' 2-1 victory away at Millwall, meaning the defender had to miss out on Wales under-21 international duty in the week.

The defender, however, has returned to training after a short spell on the sidelines, and will be available for the Swans' home clash against Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.

Rodon has come up leaps and bounds for Swansea this term, and has formed a solid defensive partnership with Mike van der Hoorn, in a defence that has conceded just 5 goals this term.

The homegrown youngster, who endured a promising loan spell at Cheltenham Town last season, has impressed upon his introduction to the Swans' starting eleven against Preston North End in their second game of the season.

This a huge boost for Graham Potter, who already has a limited squad due to injuries, as he looks to guide the Swansea to their fourth league win of the campaign this Saturday.

The Verdict

This is undeniably a massive boost for Swansea and Graham Potter - Rodon has been a standout performer for the Swans this season, and their backline looks even stronger with him alongside van der Hoorn.
