One of Swansea City's main qualities this term has been the consistency shown by the side's defence, with the south Wales outfit having only conceded 20 goals so far this campaign, whilst they have also kept a respectable five cleans sheets.

Much of their fine form at the back has been thanks to the high performance levels shown by the likes of Mike van der Hoorn, Joe Rodon and Ben Wilmot, with all three centre backs having put in vitally important showings.

Swansea fans will have however been worried at the back end of October when Rodon was ruled out for up to three months with a severe injury, which left the club short at the back as a result.

However as time has passed, it now seems that the 22-year-old Welsh international could soon be making a return to action, after he posted an upbeat post on his Instagram page recently.

The Liberty Stadium faithful will be delighted with the apparent fitness update from one of their star men, with the fans no doubt looking forward to having Rodon back available for selection.

Rodon had been ever present for the Swans this term, racking up 13 Championship appearances, forming a solid partnership with the aforementioned van der Hoorn at the back.

During the defender's enforced absence, van der Hoorn has been partnered by another young defender in Ben Wilmot, with the duo having performed well in some games, however the Swansea supporters will no doubt be more comfortable with the options their side has available in defence once Rodon returns.

Steve Cooper has had to largely rely on making use of the services of young pair Wilmot and Ben Cabango in recent games, which is probably a tell tale sign as to why the club's form has dipped so dramatically.

Given that the Swans are on a poor run of just one win in their last five, the upcoming return of Rodon can't come soon enough for the promotion chasers.
