According to the Sun, Swansea City have entered the race to sign Barnsley’s Andy Yiadom, and will rival Huddersfield Town to secure his signature.
It is understood that a £2m deal will be enough to lure Yiadom away from Oakwell, with Swansea and Huddersfield both offering the right-back a Premier League opportunity.
Barnsley’s Sky Bet Championship rivals, Reading, are also interested in Yiadom, but Swansea and Huddersfield remain favourites to strike a deal, as they look to bolster their squads ahead of a tricky Premier League campaign.
Yiadom was impressive for Barnsley in the Championship last season, helping Paul Heckingbottom’s side to a mid-table finish on their return to the second-tier.
The 25-year old only arrived at Oakwell last summer, but went on to make 32 Championship appearances for the Tykes in his debut season.
Should Yiadom complete a move away from Oakwell this summer, he will add to the long list of stars who have already turned their backs on Barnsley since the conclusion of the 2016/17 season.
Marley Watkins and Josh Scowen opted not to sign new contracts with the Tykes, signing for Norwich City and Queens Park Rangers respectively, whilst Marc Roberts has moved to Birmingham City ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
