Swansea City midfielder Sam Clucas is set to complete a £12m switch to Burnley in the next 48 hours, according to reports.

The print edition of The Sun - via HITC Sport - reports that this transfer is set for an imminent conclusion.

Clucas is set to remain in the Premier League again after suffering relegation with Swansea.

The year prior, Clucas was relegated with Hull City but moved to Swansea in the summer, with Burnley missing out on his services.

Now the Clarets are set to finally land their man, shelling an eight-figure sum on Clucas.

Sean Dyche is willing to spend money to strengthen his squad ahead of their Europa League campaign and he wants to sign Clucas before their qualifying match against Aberdeen next week.

The 27-year-old played 36 games in all competitions for the Swans last season, netting three times.

Before his switch to South Wales, the former Chesterfield man hit nine goals in nearly 100 games for Hull.

The Verdict

Clucas is a useful player in the Premier League because he is hardworking, a team player and versatile.

The former Lincoln City man can operate anywhere in midfield or as a full-back if needed.

Swansea are getting a decent fee for him as well and hopefully they can reinvest that to sort out his replacement.
