Swansea City are interested in making a fresh move to re-sign Liverpool forward Rhian Brewster on loan for next season this summer, if they manage to earn promotion back to the Premier League according to The Sun.

Steve Cooper’s side have put themselves in with a real chance of securing promotion back to the Premier League, after a dramatic final day of the campaign saw Swansea overtake Nottingham Forest into 6th place following a remarkable five goal swing – and they will now take on Brentford in the semi-finals.

Brewster has been a heavily instrumental figure for Swansea since he arrived at the Liberty Stadium on loan from Liverpool in January, with the 20-year-old having registering ten goals for Cooper’s side in the Championship – and six of those came after the restart as The Swans’ play-off push gathered full steam.

It is thought that Swansea would be set to attempt to convince Liverpool to loan Brewster back to them in the summer if they are able to secure promotion, but that they will face competition from Sheffield United with the Reds still yet to decide whether or not to loan him out next term.

The verdict

This would represent an excellent piece of business for Swansea were they to seal promotion and then bring Brewster back to the club on loan, and it is a move which you would think could well once again suit both The Swans and Liverpool.

Were Swansea to go on and earn promotion back to the top-flight then you feel Brewster could have a major role to play in the play-offs this season, and the 20-year-old is full of confidence and belief with Cooper having given him the freedom to express himself and showcase his ability in front of goal.

Another season out on loan in the Premier League could be ideal for the forward, although Liverpool could potentially see him as being ideal back up for their impressive forward line. However, were he to be made available again Swansea have the advantage of already having shown they can help him find his best form.
