Stevens was released from Reading in the summer of 2014, despite scoring 32 goals for the Reading Under-16 side - and he has since gone on to impress and flourish at the now Sky Bet League Two club Barnet.

Barnet boss Martin Allen was quick to bring the talented youngster to the club, and he'll no doubt hope to keep the player as it is looking like he has a bright future ahead of him.

The striker became the Bees' youngest player when he came on as a second half substitute against Alfreton last September.

The 17-year-old has received high praise after the forward netted more than 50 goals for Barnet under-18's last season, and his form has evidently gone unnoticed.

A number of Premier League sides appear to be keeping an eye on the 17-year-old, with Alan Pardew's Crystal Palace and Garry Monk's Swansea City leading the way.

However, it was reported last month in the Daily Mail, that the former Royals academy starlet was subject to a £250,000 bid from Swansea, but the Conference side rejected the offer.

It will be interesting to see what further development's arise, and whether one of the Premier League clubs decides to submit an official bid for the talented youngster - however, Martin Allen will surely be eager to keep hold of the coveted striker.

Barnet begin life back in League Two with a trip to recently relegated Leyton Orient before welcoming last season's beaten play-off finalists Wycombe Wanderers at The Hive.
