Swansea look forward to life in a significantly different Championship to the one they left. Transfer fees have risen, wages have risen and just to compete, they'll need a strong summer of recruitment.

How do you begin to pick the fans up after losing your top-flight status? Big money buys? If you do, you're rolling the dice a little, hoping one season of speculation leads to promotion. If not, you're looking to reduce wage bills and stripping assets.

If you don't speculate, you could end up like Hull City, mid-table also-rans with little hope of promotion and only a brief fear of the drop. It is safety, but after playing the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool, is it enough?

These questions and more will be asked and answered over the coming few weeks, but one thing Swansea must be aware of is the fans buying into whatever they do. They need their supporters on side and that is why they need to move, quickly, to bring in someone.

FLW looks at three players that could give those supporters something to smile about after a season of misery.

Arter has been linked with Swansea, but could they tempt a stalwart of Bournemouth's Premier League team to drop into the Championship?

If they did, it would be a massive boost for the squad and the fans. Arter is a great player who would thrive in the second tier, if Swansea make it happen it would make it a joyous summer for Swans.

Godfrey is a Norwich player, but he spent last season out on loan at Shrewsbury. If Arter isn't a possibility, why not pick a player looking to step up, rather than down.

Godfrey would cost £3m and if he was prised away from Norwich it would be a big blow to them. Again, securing a promising talent from a rival would be a big lift for Swans' fans.

Blackman was a target for Sheffield United, but now they've moved for Dean Henderson the Chelsea keeper could well be available for loan again.

Fabianski looks likely to leave so Swansea will be looking for a keeper and Blackman impressed at Championship level last season. They'd be pipping clubs to his signature and potentially improving their keeper offering at the same time. Double bonus.
