Newly relegated Swansea City are braced for a huge £20m bid for star defender Alfie Mawson, according to the Birmingham Mail via a report in the Daily Mail.

The Swans, who have been fairly quiet in terms of incomings and outgoings, are now preparing themselves for a massive bid, with Premier League newboys Wolves reportedly weighing up the big money move for the former Barnsley man.

Mawson was hugely impressive last season for the Swans despite seeing the club relegated, and he attracted plenty of interest with his defensive showings, with the Welsh club doing well to hang onto Mawson beyond the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old is expected to move on this summer, and it is now last season's Championship winners Wolves who appear to be making the first move, with a hefty £20m bid being lined up by Nuno Santo's men.

Mawson was signed by the Swans after he impressed for Barnsley over a number of seasons following a move to Oakwell from non-league football. His story has ensured he has become a fan favourite at the Liberty stadium, and he didn't miss a game last season, scoring three goals along the way.

Swansea fans, what do you thnk to this? Good deal? Let us know in the comments!
