Swansea City look like being made to wait to complete the sale of midfielder Sam Clucas, with Burnley putting the deal on hold.

According to respected journalist Alan Nixon, the Clarets are not yet willing to complete a deal for Clucas due to him not being 100% fit, and the news could well have repurcussions for the Swans, who were relying on the money received for Clucas to strengthen their squad.

The Swans are hoping to sign Brentford midfielder Ryan Woods as a replacement for Clucas, but with Burnley now looking like they might pull the plug on the deal, manager Graham Potter could well be forced to look elsewhere, or keep hold of Clucas.

Former Hull City man Clucas was one of few players to come out of last season with any credit at the Liberty, as the Swans finally succumbed to relegation back to the Championship under then manager Carlos Carvalhal.

Potter's side got themselves off to a winning start yesterday as they ran out 2-1 winners at Sheffield United, coming from behind to take the spoils at Bramall Lane.

Swansea City fans, what do you make of this? Would you prefer Clucas to stay or go? Let us know in the comments!
