Brentford, Swansea City and Luton Town are all interested in signing Charlton Athletic midfielder Jonny Williams in the summer, according to reports from Football Insider.
The 25-year-old has rediscovered his best form for Charlton Athletic this season, after enduring a hugely frustrating time with injuries that have really hampered his progress.
But the Wales international has helped guide the Addicks to promotion from League One this season, with Lee Bowyer’s side defeating Sunderland 2-1 in the last kick of the game of their play-off final yesterday, with Williams making a positive impact from the bench.
The attacking midfielder has made 19 appearances in all competitions this season, with his contract set to expire at the Valley at the end of this month.
Charlton are said to be keen on keeping hold of the playmaker, but they now face competition from three Championship rivals ahead of next season.
A skilful attacking midfielder, Williams is going to have a big decision to make on his future in the coming weeks.
I think Williams would be a very good signing for anyone who wishes to sign him, but I can see him staying at Charlton for next season given their success on Sunday afternoon.
He didn’t play for too long at all, but you saw that he was a cut above the rest when he came off the bench, and he has been impressive this season.
A team who play good football like Brentford and Luton could definitely do with a number 10 like Williams, but as alluded to before, I think Bowyer will want to keep him at the Valley for another year at least.
