Gary Rowett is already getting to work in the transfer window, with Stoke City looking to complete a number of early deals ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

According to John Percy of the Telegraph, Stoke are on the verge of completing a deal for Benik Afobe, with Rowett expected to part with £12m to secure the striker’s service.

Afobe only joined Wolverhampton Wanderers permanently 12 days ago, after last season’s Championship champions took up their option to sign the striker after an impressive loan spell.

That loan spell saw the 25-year-old score six goals and guide Wolves to promotion, but Nuno Santo still plans to move the striker on this summer, with Stoke expected to complete a £12m transfer today.

As expected, this unusual transfer scenario has received plenty of reaction on social media.

Whilst Wolves’ supporters are sure Afobe will be a success again in the Championship, the deal is receiving plenty of criticism from elsewhere…
