Sheffield Wednesday sit in the top six of the Championship table, clinging onto sixth spot after a poor run of form has seen them allow Fulham to gain ground on them in the race for promotion.

Despite this recent blip though, the Owls have had a pretty good season. They have spent some pretty big money, with the likes of Abdi and Jordan Rhodes both costing a fair bit of cash.

The Owls squad though is full of players with differing abilities, and manager Carlos Carvalhal has assembled a team which is more than capable of fighting for promotion.

A big part of the squad being successful comes from players who have been excellent despite maybe not being expected to be some of the top performers in the team.

With this in mind, we have taken a look at TWO players who have pretty much come from nowhere to massively impress for the Owls this season...

Vincent Sasso

Despite not being first choice, Sasso has had to step up to the plate and cover for the injury to Tom Lees.

Some Owls fans will say Sasso is not that good, and not at the level they need to be, but the fact they remain in the top six while Sasso has been playing and covering for a star performer like Lees, is testament to his attitude and ability.

Morgan Fox

A January signing from a lower division, Fox has settled into life well with the Owls.

He looks every bit the accomplished left back, and at just 23 has plenty of time to improve. His performances have been steady, and a full summer working with his new teammates will do him the world of good no doubt.
