In what appeared to initially be a turbulent season for QPR, the R's have stabilised and consolidated their position in the Championship under Ian Holloway.

Queens Park Rangers currently sit 15th in the table with a ten point gap and six team cushion above Blackburn Rovers, who currently sit in the relegation drop zone.

Since Ian Holloway has taken over from Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Queens Park Rangers have had an upturn form which has seen them steadily climb up the table.

Ian Holloway's philosophy to promote or in some cases recall some of Queens Park Rangers' most talented young players has been part of the reason why QPR have had a stronger second half of the season.

Despite Queens Park Rangers making over ten signings this season, some of Queens Park Rangers top performers have surprisingly come out of nowhere.

FLW writer Elliott Wheat-Bowen looks at TWO Queens Park Rangers who have come out of nowhere to be revelations this season.....

Darnell Furlong

After returning from a loan spell with Swindon Town, Darnell Furlong has impressed as he has provided excellent competition for James Perch for QPR's right-back position.

Prior to this season, Furlong had spent a number of spells away from the club on loan at Northampton Town, Cambridge United and most recently Swindon Town.

However, this season, the 21-year-old defender who came through QPR's academy has been thoroughly impressive when he has featured in Ian Holloway's side which has led to the club moving quickly to offer him a new contract.

As an understudy to the vastly experienced defender James Perch, Darnell Furlong will continue to develop and improve under the watchful eye of Ian Holloway.

After spending the first two seasons of his senior career on loan, Darnell Furlong has seemingly come out of nowhere to be a revelation for Queens Park Rangers this season.

Ryan Manning

This season another emerging star from Queens Park Rangers' academy who has been thoroughly impressed is 20-year-old central midfielder, Ryan Manning.

Since joining Queens Park Rangers academy from Galway United, Manning steadily progressed through the academy system until he was promoted to the first team by Ian Holloway.

Although Manning has only made 12 appearances in the Championship this season, impressive performances against Reading and Fulham showed that he is more than capable of performing at this level.

Following his senior debut in the 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers, Manning has been ever-present in QPR's matchday squads.

After catching the eye of Ian Holloway and emerging from nowhere, Ryan Manning has been a revelation playing in the heart of QPR's midfield.
