West Brom confirmed the addition of Leicester City winger Marc Albrighton on Deadline Day, with the experienced winger arriving on loan.

Appearing over 300 times in the Premier League, and sensationally, he was an integral part of the Leicester team that won England's top flight during the 2015/16 campaign, Albrighton also has Europa League and Champions League experience.

Albion also managed to secure a deal for Nathaniel Chalobah on Deadline Day in what proved to be a good day for the Baggies.

Sharing his thoughts on Albrighton and his temporary move to The Hawthorns, Carlton Palmer told Football League World: "I'm a little bit surprised to be honest with you that Marc has not featured more for Leicester this season as they've been struggling this.

"He was very integral to the team that won the league title for Leicester City a few seasons back and has been a very consistent performer.

"So I'm surprised that he has not featured at all really.

"I think it's brilliant business from West Brom. They're on the charge to get into the playoffs. Like I said, I don't think anybody's going to catch Sheffield United or Burnley but it's a fantastic bit of business for them."

The verdict

Albrighton stands out as a very strong addition in the context of the January transfer window at Championship level and his experience could be vital as the Baggies chase promotion.

Possessing an excellent crossing ability and is technically a very good player, he is also a willing runner who will work tirelessly out of possession for Corberan.

He also offers versatility as he can play in any of three supporting roles behind the striker, which makes him an exciting option for the Spaniard.

There are lots of reasons why this has the potential to be a good move and it is now down to the 33-year-old to produce the goods.
