After coming so close last season, the pressure is seriously going to be on for Jack Ross and his Sunderland players to win promotion in 2020.

The Black Cats arrived in League One last season following embarassing back-to-back relegations, but following a takeover many fans started to believe it would just be a one-season stay.

But after finishing in an underwhelming fifth place in the league season they were then beaten at Wembley for the second time in a year, losing the play-off final to Charlton Athletic.

And Ross has moved to strengthen his side as a result with centre-back Jordan Willis and goalkeeper Lee Burge both arrived from Coventry City whilst right-back Conor McLaughlin has made the move from Millwall.

On Thursday night they faced their latest pre-season test whilst on a pre-season tour of Portugal in the form of Benfica's B team.

And, it is safe to say that it was not one that will live long in the memory with the match finishing 0-0.

Following a host of draws in the previous campaign, plenty of fans were quick to say the same thing...
