Swan has scored plenty of goals for the Under-23s this season, including a brace against Colchester United where Hughton was present to watch him in action at Meadow Lane.

With Lewis Grabban out injured, this leaves Lyle Taylor as the club's only out-and-out striker, with Miguel Guerrero playing as a number 10 in recent weeks.

Hughton has confirmed that Swan will travel to the Vitality Stadium with the rest of the first-team squad, having "impressed" the manager in training as well as in practice matches.

He said to BBC Radio Nottingham: "It’s an area we don’t have the numbers in at the moment.

‘He’s impressed me when I’ve seen him. He has that pace that can get him away from defenders. It’s a reward for him."

Swan spent some time on loan at Truro City last season, gaining experience of mens' football.

The Verdict

This is really good news for Swan after what has been a fine start to the season for the youngster.

He has scored a hatful of goals for the Under-23s, so he deserves his chance to travel with the first-team and try and make an impression.

Forest have so many talented young players coming through the ranks, and Swan is undoubtedly another one of those players.
