Leeds United continue to maintain their form in the Championship this season, with the Whites just two points off leaders Norwich City, with a game in hand over their East Anglian rivals.

But it ended up a nervy finish for Marcelo Bielsa's side last time out, with an 87th minute penalty from Oli McBurnie for Swansea, enough to make it a tense final few minutes as Leeds held on for a 2-1 win.

The conceding of a late goal was enough for Leeds United on-loan winger Jack Harrison to suggest after the match that the team need to improve on closing out a game.

But is this failure to close out games a result of Bielsa's intense training sessions, leading to fatigue in the players?

We discuss.....

Jacob Potter

"Surely this has to be a factor.

"Bielsa’s training methods have rightly come under scrutiny this season, and I think the players could be in better condition heading into games.

"If Leeds can’t see out games this season, then they will fall away in the promotion race."

“It could be, but that’s the easy answer that pundits want to give, isn’t it.

“There’s a lazy element to some journalism in which the same theories are rehashed.

“It could be mental, it could be fitness, it could be Bielsa.

“It is more likely to be all three combined.”

Jay Taylor

“It’s a very plausible argument from Harrison.

“Leeds put in a shift in training and on the pitch, and the amount of energy they exert and that could see them wilt a little in the final ten minutes.

“I don’t blame the players if they tire because Bielsa’s high-press can be exhausting and demands 100 per cent commitment at all times.

“Maintaining that throughout a whole game for a whole season will inevitably end in fatigue.”
