According to reports from The Athletic, Derby County are interested in signing Fenerbahce defender Adil Rami this month.

The 34-year-old's contract at the Turkish club is set to expire at the end of the season, with a move away now looking likely for the French international this week.

The central defender has made just five appearances for Fenerbahce since arriving from Marseille in the summer, and is now said to be keen on a move to the Premier League.

Crystal Palace are said to be interested in the World Cup winner, but Derby are also said to be interested in signing the experienced centre-half this month.

Derby are likely to be in the market for another centre-half this month - natural right-back Andre Wisdom started alongside Matt Clarke at the weekend, which highlights their lack of depth in that area of the pitch.

The Rams have been linked with Leicester City's young defender Filip Benkovic, but the latter looks set to join Middlesbrough, therefore they might need to switch their attention elsewhere.

Derby have lacked an experienced leader in defence since sacking Richard Keogh earlier on this season, therefore bringing in a player of Rami's experience could be a massive coup for Cocu's side.
