Rumours have begun to circulate recently about the possibility of Championship club Leeds United, signing Premier League striker Dwight Gayle.

These rumours have surfaced following United selling their star striker Chris Wood to Burnley earlier on in the transfer window.

Gayle was in electric form last season as Newcastle gained promotion back into the Premier League at the first time of asking.

The 26-year-old scored 23 goals and provided two assists in 32 league games as Newcastle snatched the Championship title away from Brighton.

Formerly of Crystal Palace, Gayle has featured twice for Newcastle in the Premier League this season but has so far failed to complete a full 90 minutes and is yet to find the back of the net as well.

Whilst the Premier League may be a bit out of range for the Englishman, signing Gayle at Championship level can almost guarantee goals.

But what do the Leeds fans think? FLW writer Adam Goacher has taken to Twitter to find out what the Elland Road faithful make of these rumours…
