Young West Brom striker Callum Morton has joined Fleetwood Town for the upcoming 2021/22 campaign on a season-long loan.

Morton, who is now embarking on his fourth temporary spell away from The Hawthorns, spent last season with Lincoln City, scoring twice in 17 games for The Imps, during a season where they narrowly missed out on promotion to the second-tier.

The 21-year-old joined The Baggies from Yeovil Town in 2017, finishing his youth development with The Baggies. Since his arrival from the south of England, Morton enjoyed loan spells with Braintree Town and Northampton Town, before last season's venture with the League One play-off finalists.

Morton is yet to feature for the newly-relegated Championship side but remains contracted with The Baggies until 2024.

Despite possessing a high-quality U23s side who compete in Premier League 2, Morton has taken the pyramid route, where getting used to the first-team set up with professional football clubs has been prioritised.

Fleetwood are hoping to add more firepower this season after scoring a mere 49 goals last season, with only two of the relegated teams and Ipswich Town scoring fewer.

Here, we take a look at how some West Brom fans have reacted to the news that Morton will spend another season on loan in the EFL...
