Leeds United have enjoyed a successful first half of the season in the Championship so far under Garry Monk.

Following a shaky start, the Elland Road club are sitting pretty in fourth place, with fans optimistic about a return to the Premier League potentially becoming a reality.

A host of new signings were brought in during the summer by Monk as he put his own stamp on the club.

With Leeds now looking likely to make a push for at least a playoff place, Monk will need to strengthen his frontline to ensure enough goals are scored.

With this in mind, FLW writer Lee Connor looks at FOUR strikers who Leeds could look to sign in January…

Daryl Murphy

After surprisingly signing for Newcastle in the summer, Murphy has had very little impact on Tyneside.

However, there is no doubting his quality in the Championship.

Murphy could well do a job for Leeds though. His form for Ipswich over the past few seasons has been excellent, and if he could rediscover some of that, then Leeds would have a top player in their ranks.

Scott Hogan

Brentford man Hogan is one of the hottest strikers in the league at the moment, and is being linked with a host of clubs as the window approaches.

Leeds though would be wise to swoop and join the race for Hogan.

His finishing ability looks top class, and it is surely only a matter of time before Brentford cash in on their biggest asset.

David Nugent

Middlesbrough man Nugent is firmly out of favour at the Riverside, with Alvaro Negredo taking his place.

Nugent though is a top player at Championship level, and scored crucial goals for Leicester and Boro during his time in the league.

Leeds could do with some more pace up top, and Nugent fits that bill.

Fraizer Campbell

Crystal Palace striker Campbell seems to having his usual season in the Premier League, which involves not much game time and plenty of bench warming.

Campbell really is a Championship standard player, and a good one at that.

He could be good for Leeds. His pace and experience could be crucial, and if he could bang in the goals to go along with his obvious talent, he would be a real coup.

Leeds fans, would you take any of these? Which one out of the four? Let us know!
