Bakary Sako departed West Bromwich Albion in the January transfer window after a terrible time at The Hawthorns.

The French-born attacker joined West Brom in the summer but made just five Championship appearances for Darren Moore’s side.

He then returned to Crystal Palace after a matter of months, where Roy Hodgson put some strange faith in him.

Was his spell at West Brom a waste of time?

We discuss…

Gary Hutchinson

"Of course it was.

"It looked it at the time too.

"He used them to get fit, didn’t he?

"I wonder if we’ll say the same things about the Palace move in six months time."

Jacob Potter

"A complete waste of time.

"It was a bizarre signing in the first place, as he wasn’t better than any of the options that West Brom currently have in their squad."

"A waste of wages and time looking back on it."

Louie Chandler

"Oh absolutely.

"Honestly, what was the point? On his arrival he looked like he could be a useful bit-part player but he was not even that.

"I imagine Darren Moore and the club are delighted Palace came back in for him."

Alfie Burns

"Absolutely pointless.

"You kind of feel like Sako used West Brom to get some fitness before a move elsewhere.

"Supporters will feel cheated."
