Queens Park Rangers will be looking to build upon the point that they earned in their clash with Norwich City earlier this week when they take on West Bromwich Albion in the Championship tomorrow.

Currently thriving under the guidance of head coach Mick Beale, the R's will be eyeing up a push for promotion when the Championship resumes in December following a break for the World Cup.

Only two points adrift of the automatic promotion places, QPR could move above Sheffield United and Blackburn Rovers this weekend if they defeat the Baggies.

Ahead of this clash, we have decided to take a look at QPR's chances of achieving different outcomes at the end of the season by using data gathered from FiveThirtyEight's Supercomputer.

Promotion

According to the Supercomputer, QPR only have a 17% chance of securing promotion to the Premier League as they are currently projected to accumulate 70 points in the second-tier.

Last season, the top two in the Championship (Fulham and AFC Bournemouth) finished the year on 90 and 88 points respectively.

QPR have won 50% of their league games this season and will need to embark on a winning run in order to bolster their chances of returning to the Premier League.

As it stands, Burnley currently have the best chance of securing automatic promotion (59%).

Winning the league

This particular data has cast major doubt on QPR's ability to win the Championship as they only have a 5% chance of achieving this feat.

Whereas Beale wasn't expected to immediately transform his side into title contenders when he was appointed earlier this year, the R's are only seven points adrift of leaders Burnley and have a game in hand over Vincent Kompany's side.

Securing a play-off place

As per this Supercomputer, QPR have a better chance of reaching the play-offs (30%) compared to achieving automatic promotion and winning the league.

Four teams, including Watford and Norwich, rank higher than the R's when it comes to the race for a top-six finish in the second-tier.

QPR previously secured a place in the second-tier via the play-offs in 2014 when they famously defeated Derby County at Wembley Stadium thanks to a goal from Bobby Zamora.
