Sunderland picked up a crucial three points in their quest to win promotion back into the Championship after a narrow 1-0 win over promotion rivals Ipswich Town.
In a game of few clear-cut chances, the Black Cats finally broke the deadlock with nine minutes remaining of the contest, when Chris Maguire hit the winner.
The goal was Maguire’s 11th of the season, and he’ll be hoping he can add to his tally as they head towards the later stages of this season.
The win moves Sunderland ahead of Ipswich in the League One table as they moved into sixth position. Phil Parkinson’s side are next in action when they take on Rochdale in a game that they’ll be expected to pick up three points from.
The Black Cats have shown real improvement since the turn of the year, and they’ll be hoping that momentum can continue as this year’s campaign progresses.
Plenty of Sunderland fans took to social media to issue their thoughts on this win over Ipswich Town.

Talk about a game of two halves!! Important three points #SAFC

That was some effort today. By far the worst team in the first half, but some shocking finishing aside, undeniably strides ahead in the second. A win and a clean sheet against a promotion rival sounds decent #safc
