Charlton Athletic made a welcome return to winning ways on Tuesday night, claiming a 1-0 win over Wigan Athletic at The DW Stadium.

Having seen his red card from the weekend defeat to Blackpool overturned, Chuks Aneke made the most of that reprieve firing in the only goal of the game with just under 20 minutes on the clock for his 12th of the season.

That result saw Lee Bowyer's side end a four-game winless run, and move to within five points of the League One play-off places.

One man who stood out for Charlton on Tuesday, was captain Jason Pearce, with WhoScored reporting that the centre back won 13 aerial duels and made eight clearances across the course of the 90 minutes, more than any other player on the pitch.

That is something that did not go unnoticed by a number of Charlton fans as they took to Twitter to give their thoughts on the game, with many keen to pay tribute to Pearce for his contribution to that win.

Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say about the 33-year-old's performance against his former club.
