Leeds United’s Marcelo Bielsa and Kemar Roofe have both been awarded prestigious monthly accolades after their impressive start to the Championship campaign.

The United head coach has been presented with the Manager of the Championship Month award for August after a run of six games without defeat, winning four and drawing two to sit atop the division.

Striker Roofe, meanwhile, has been handed the Championship Player of the Month for August award, having fired four goals and two assists in the first month of the season.

Bielsa has adopted a high-pressing, fast-tempo game looking to blow his opponents away, and in August, the clubbed just that.

Impressive and computable wins over Stoke City, Derby County, Rotherham United and Norwich City gave the Whites foundations to progress up the league and draws against Swansea City, and Middlesbrough added to their unbeaten run.

It is the first time Leeds have won both awards in the same month, and Bielsa, the first manager, to get a Manager of the Month accolade in eight years since Grayson in 2010.

There was a plethora of opinion on the pair winning their respective awards on social media.

With that said, here’s how the Leeds United supporters reacted on Twitter to Bielsa and Roofe winning the Manager and Player of the month awards for August.
