On Deadline Day in January 2018, Luton Town announced that they had completed the signing of Jake Jervis from Plymouth Argyle.

There were high hopes for the attacker, who had been hugely impressive for Argyle earlier in his career.

See how Luton Town fans reacted to Jervis' arrival at the time on Twitter.

So it's safe to say that the majority of Luton fans had high hopes for Jervis when he first arrived at the club on Deadline Day.

But this move hasn't gone as expected, with Jervis being restricted to just 12 appearances for the Hatters in his short spell with the club to date.

He was previously a regular for Plymouth and scored 31 goals across a three-year-spell with the club.

There was no doubting that at the time, Jervis was a smart bit of business for Luton, but he simply hasn't hit the heights in his time with the league-leaders.

Luton are flying at the moment and it came as no surprise to see the winger heading out on loan in the summer after failing to make a notable impact with the Hatters.

He's currently out on loan with relegation-threatened, AFC Wimbledon for the remainder of the season and has scored twice in a relatively quiet spell with the Dons.

But having not scored a single goal in his time with Luton, this has certainly been a move to forget for Jervis, and it seems unlikely that he will have much of a future at the club.

The Hatters have hardly put a foot wrong all season and if they are to win promotion, then Jervis is likely to be heading for the exit door in the summer as they look to adjust to life in the Championship.
