Barnsley’s impressive run of form continued in midweek, as they ran out 2-1 winners over play-off chasing rivals Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday evening.Β

Carlton Morris stepped off the substitutes bench in the second-half to fire the Tykes ahead after 72 minutes on the night, before Alex Mowatt made it 2-0 in the final minute of normal time.

Blackburn pulled a goal back in stoppage time through Adam Armstrong, but Valerien Ismael’s side held on to take the three points in this one.

Barnsley are now sat tenth in the Championship table, and are seven points adrift of sixth-placed AFC Bournemouth heading into the final 17 matches of this year’s league campaign.

Did Jacob Brown leave Barnsley for a higher or lower fee than when he signed for the club?

One player that has played his part in Barnsley’s strong run of form is defender Toby Sibbick, with the 21-year-old playing the full 90 minutes in the win over Tony Mowbray’s side.

Following the win over Rovers, Sibbick labelled it as a privilege to play for Barnsley, which will certainly go down well with the Oakwell faithful.

Plenty of Barnsley fans took to social media to praise Sibbick for his performance on the night against Blackburn Rovers.
