Cardiff City have climbed to within four points of the play-off zone following their emphatic 3-0 victory over Huddersfield on Wednesday night.

Neil Harris' side entered the match on the back of a five-game unbeaten run in the Championship, and they extended this to six as Josh Murphy, Will Vaulks and Callum Paterson all got among the goals at the John Smith's Stadium.

The result means the Bluebirds have now seriously boosted their play-off hopes after rising to eighth in the second-tier table, with the South Wales outfit having now won three of their last four league matches.

Cardiff delivered an accomplished performance across the pitch to help seal their second away win in five days, but there also some individual displays which particularly stood out, including that of Vaulks who further cemented his midfield spot.

It has taken some time for Vaulks to establish himself following his move from Rotherham, but he has now started each of the Bluebirds' last four league games and the Welshman capped off another fine showing with a goal against the Terriers.
