Josh Maja spared Sunderland's blushes at the weekend, after popping up with yet another goal to salvage a point against Wycombe Wanderers.

That is now 11 goals in 20 games for the Black Cats this season - an outstanding record in League One for a player of his age, and he looks to an incredibly important player for the club going forward in their quest for promotion.

His form in front of goal obviously hasn't gone unnoticed, with Championship side Bristol City the latest club to declare an interest in the clinical forward.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season, it's bound to be a nervy January transfer window at the Stadium of Light, as the Black Cats will be praying that they can keep hold of their talisman.

Should Maja want to depart the North East club for Bristol City however, Sunderland should definitely look to gain something out of the deal other than just a hefty transfer fee - and could perhaps look to include Mo Eisa in the deal.

Eisa has found it difficult at Ashton Gate since his £1.5million move from Cheltenham Town last term, where he was mightily impressive for the League Two club.

After arriving from non-league outfit Dartford, the 24-year old finished as one of the top goalscorers in League Two, after netting 25 goals in 50 games in his debut season in the Football League.

Since then however, Eisa has made just four appearances for Lee Johnson's Robins, with three of those appearances coming off the bench, and his only start coming in the Carabao Cup.

Eisa deserves more - to score nearly 30 goals in your debut season in the EFL is some going, and deserves his chance in League One after impressing in League Two.

If the worst comes to worst, then Sunderland should definitely be keeping tabs on him.
