With the end of the season looming, transfer speculation has started to mount across the divisions, as clubs start to get their summer plans in motion.

Oldham Athletic manager Peter Wild is one who will be bracing himself for interest in his 21-year-old defender George Edmondson, who is already on the radar of Stoke City, Preston North End and Sunderland, according to Football Insider.

So if Edmondson is to move on in the summer, which of the interested clubs would be the best option for the youngster?

We discuss........

Gary Hutchinson

“I quite like Preston as a destination.

“Josh Ginnelly and Jayden Stockley have both settled well there and that’s surely encouraging.

“Also, it’s geographically closer for him as well, meaning less upheaval.

“If he’s got a bit about him, Preston will be his destination.”

George Harbey

"I think Preston.

"Alex Neil’s men are no strangers to signing players from League One and League Two, and Edmundson is one of the most talented players in the lower leagues at present.

"Their defence is an area that probably needs strengthening the most, so all in all, it’s a perfect move for both parties."

Jacob Potter

"Sunderland would be the best place for him.

"He’s an exciting talent and Jack Ross has already shown that he’s willing to give young players a chance.

"As a youngster, you need to be given opportunities in the first-team and Sunderland would be the ideal destination for Edmondson in the early stages of his career.

"A player with a bright future ahead of him."
