Sunderland weighing up optimistic move for £17.5m Premier League forward

According to The Daily Mail, Sunderland have made enquiries about taking Chelsea forward Bertrand Traore on loan next season.

Bertrand Traore spent the entirety of the 2016/17 season on loan at Dutch giants Ajax, scoring 14 goals to help his side to 2nd place in the Eredivisie and runners up in the Europa League final.

The 21-year-old has played 16 games in total for Chelsea’s senior team, netting four times.

With a number of top attacking players ahead of him in the pecking order, Antonio Conte might decide to farm him out on loan again or sell him permanently.

Ajax want to make the Burkina Faso international’s deal permanent and they face competition from Lyon.

However, Sunderland have still contacted Chelsea over a possible loan move.

Alternatively, Chelsea could look to keep him as they prepare for the added burden of European football next season.

Bertrand Traore is rated at £17.5m by Chelsea and can play as a winger, attacking midfielder or as a striker.

Sunderland fans – would you like to sign Traore on loan? Can you land him? Let us know below…
