Football League World head to the Stadium Of Light today as Sunderland host Ipswich Town.

The Black Cats have enjoyed an excellent run of late which stretches back to the early December defeat against Gillingham.

However that unbeaten run came to a prompt end last week as Phil Parkinson's side fell to a 2-0 defeat against Portsmouth at Fratton Park.

But that shouldn't detract from what has been a stunning resurgence since the turn of the year.

Following Jack Ross' dismissal Sunderland endured a poor run of form which saw them drop into the bottom half of the table.

Parkinson spent those weeks examining different options within his squad, but it seems that Sunderland have now settled on a best XI - something which they hope will serve them well during their hunt for promotion.

In the opposition camp it’s a similar tale.

Ipswich Town are hoping for an immediate return to the Championship after being relegated last term.

It's been a decent season for the Tractor Boys however a couple of decent results have seen them drop out of automatic promotion contention.

Last week saw Paul Lambert's side fall to a heavy defeat as they lost 4-1 against Peterborough United and the hope will be that they bounce back with a big result at the Stadium Of Light.

Doing so, however, will not be easy as Ipswich will be without Gwion Edwards who is suspended for Saturday's game.

Can you name every Sunderland player's shirt number this season?

However they'll face a Sunderland side who will also be without two key players.

Joel Lynch will miss the game with concussion, while Charlie Wyke is a big doubt after suffering a shoulder injury.

It's a massive game for both sides and the feeling is that we'll be a big step closer to seeing who will last the course after 5pm on Saturday night.
