Sunderland will be looking to build on their draw with Wolves this weekend as they aim to get themselves away from the bottom three.

The men from the Stadium of Light have had a pretty poor campaign so far but things under Chris Coleman are looking a little bit more positive.

For sure, the men from Wearside still have work to do with their home form still a real issue but it does seem as though there is a bit more positivity about the place.

Some players look to be up for the fight now, too, and one man, Lynden Gooch, has revealed his determination to stay in the side for as long as he can and has outlined a plan to do so.

As quoted by The Sunderland Echo, Gooch said:

"I am flexible and can play in multiple positions and fill in. I have been playing as a striker, out wide and also in midfield against Aston Villa.

“I need to nail down a certain position."

Gooch, then, whilst happy at being versatile, feels as though he needs to specialise in a particular spot for the side if he is to play more often.

It remains to be seen exactly, though, where he ends up playing and how often for the Black Cats.
