Sunderland recorded arguably the result of the weekend as they drew 0-0 away at Wolves in the Championship.

There was a fair few onlookers tipping Wolves to beat Sunderland on Saturday afternoon but Chris Coleman's men dug in and defended valiantly to earn a very impressive point.

That really should boost confidence around the club and show them what they can do, as well as what might be possible under Chris Coleman.

Indeed, there has been an upturn in form under the Welsh manager and it seems as though things could just pick up further over the coming weeks and months.

Robbin Ruiter certainly seems impressed with what he has seen, too, with it apparent that the new tactics under Coleman are working better and easier to understand than under Simon Grayson.

As quoted by the Sunderland Echo, Ruiter has said:

“A lot of things have changed for us. It’s a different manager.

“Simon was a great guy and a good manager but this manager works in a different way and we work a lot on how the shape is and how we have to be in our organisation.

“If everybody knows his role in the organisation it’s easier to rely on each other."

Promising stuff for the Black Cats, then, and so let's see if they can string some results together over Christmas and finally address their atrocious home form.
