Sunderland should consider signing of prolific 25-year-old currently scoring for fun in Scotland

Sunderland will be looking for some reprieve on the pitch next season after two miserable years which have seen the Black Cats fall from the Premier League down to the third tier of English football.

Scottish boss Jack Ross is the manager tasked with reviving the club’s fortunes and he knows that he must lead the club back into the Championship at the earliest possible opportunity.

First, however, he must assemble a squad capable of being competitive in League One and install a winning mentality into a football club that has seriously lost its way over the last 24 months.

Ross arrived at the Stadium of Light from St Mirren and it might be a wise move if he raided his former employers for the services of prolific striker Gavin Reilly this summer.

The 25-year-old netted 22 goals in all competitions last season and he would surely relish the chance to test himself south of the border in English football, whilst he wouldn’t break the bank as far as the Black Cats are concerned.

Given their misfortunes of recent years Sunderland won’t be an easy sell for any potential arrivals that Ross wants to bring to the club this summer and calling upon players he has worked with previously looks like a viable option in the transfer market.

Sunderland fans, would you welcome Gavin Reilly to the club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
