Sunderland have been significant players in the transfer window this summer, making no fewer than 11 signings.

New manager Jack Ross has overhauled the whole squad at the Stadium of Light to flush out the residual negativity that comes with two successive relegations.

With their recent past the primary cause for the club’s demise to the third tier.

The need to remove the deadwood from the club was the most pressing matter of this transfer window.

The influx of new additions shows Ross has been proactive in rebuilding his new side from the ground up to regroup, refocus and attempt to regain a spot in the Championship come May.

Most of the players that put Sunderland in the position they find themselves in have since left the club.

But there are still a few that wish to leave and will not feature for the new-look Black cats.

With three days left in the transfer window, here are two players that Sunderland should look to cash-in on.

Lee Cattermole is a player who looks to be on his way out of the Stadium of Light.

Hull City enquired about a loan deal, but nothing was finalised. The 30-year-old is starting his tenth year at the northeast club.

He wasn’t on the bench for Sunderland’s season-opening win against Charlton on Saturday.

He should be a player that the club cash-in on and recoup a fee if only to get Cattermole off of the wage bill.

After an impressive showing in the win against Charlton, Oviedo’s stock would have risen.

He set up the winner in the final minute of added time at the weekend, and despite playing and remaining professional, the Costa Rica International wants to leave the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats will want to keep him after his performance, but if a player wants to go, it will inevitably happen.

Sell Oviedo while his stock is high heading into the final days of the transfer window.
