Kyril Louis-Dreyfus's takeover of Sunderland has certainly led to a flurry of changes at the club in recent weeks.

The Black Cats are adapting to life under a new regime following the announcement that Dreyfus had taken control of the League One club.

Since then the 23-year-old billionaire has wasted little time after plans emerged to intent to invest £500,000 in a new pitch at the Stadium Of Light as well as providing a state-of-the-art streaming platform to enhance the viewing experience for supporters.

While Dreyfus has kicked on in with his plans for the club we've also seen the likes of Stewart Donald and former CEO Jim Rodwell step down as directors of the club.

But it seems that there's more changes on the horizon.

Sunderland have today confirmed that the club's finance director Angela Lowes has stepped down from her position at the club.

A statement on the club's website read: "Sunderland AFC today announced that long-serving Finance Director Angela Lowes is to step down from her role with immediate effect.

"Angela has been a loyal servant to the club for more than 20 years, having joined in 2000 and been a member of the Board of Directors since 2011.

"The club would like to thank Angela for all she has done for the club and we wish her all the best."

The verdict

While this off-field appointment may not impact life on the pitch, it's certainly a sign of big changes at the club.

Sunderland are moving in a new direction and for supporters it's definitely an exciting time to following the Black Cats.

Time will tell how quickly the Dreyfus regime will transform the club's fortunes, but early signs suggest that he's going to be doing everything that he can to make it happen.
