Sunderland extended their unbeaten run to eight games with a 0-0 draw against Doncaster Rovers.

It was the visitors who dominated the first half as their pressing game forced the Black Cats into a number of errors that almost proved costly.

Phil Parkinson's side looked a lot more dangerous in the second period as they dominated play but unfortunately for them they were unable to find the decisive goal.

Here’s how we rated the Black Cats.

Jon McLaughlin - 6

Hardly tested in the first half but forced into action in the second as he made a couple of good stops.

Jordan Willis – 6

Swept up play well and had a decent game on the whole. He even managed to support the attack which almost led to a goal from Maguire.

Alim Ozturk – 7

Had a decent game considering how exposed he was large spells. Caught out a couple of times with balls over the top but did well.

Joel Lynch – 6

Poor on the ball which invited pressure from the visitors. Did manage to make some crucial heads to keep the opposition out.

Luke O’Nien – 7

A relentless display from a player who certainly looked the most likely to make something happen. A couple of poor decisions cost him a higher mark.

George Dobson – 6

Worked hard but a lack of position awareness made it too easy for Doncaster to play through them.

Max Power – 7

A lack of quality on the ball invited pressure from the visitors. Much better in the second half as he sat much deeper to dictate play.

Denver Hume – 8

Looked dangerous going forward but struggled to contain Jon Taylor who gave him a tough night.

Chris Maguire – 7

Looked dangerous but lacked quality on the ball as he needlessly gave it away on occasion. Still looked like making something happen.

Charlie Wyke – 6

Led the line well but perhaps didn’t get the rub of the green from the referee.

Lynden Gooch – 7

Had a quiet first half by his normal standards but came to life in the second as he combined well with Hume down the left.

Can you name every Sunderland player's shirt number this season?

Substitutes

Duncan Watmore - 7

Looked a threat as he used his pace and direct approach to cause real problems for Doncaster. Went close with a header in stoppage time.

Kyle Lafferty - 6

Barely touched the ball after his was brought on but occupied a good position between defenders. Showed good link up play on occasion.
