Sunderland misfit and recently released midfielder Jack Rodwell is set for a shock move to Championship strugglers Bolton Wanderers.
According to Talksport, Rodwell is in talks with Phil Parkinson’s men regarding a move to the Macron, a move which would come as quite the shock following his failed spell with the Black Cats.
Rodwell had his contract cancelled by Sunderland this week after spending almost two years without playing a game and eating up around £70,000 a week in wages while the club suffered successive relegations.
However, still only 27, Bolton clearly see something in Rodwell, and are now eyeing up signing for the former Everton man on a free following his release from the north east.
Rodwell will no doubt be keen to get his career back on track following what has been a miserable time for him ever since he made a big money move from the Toffees to Manchester City back in 2012.
The former England under-21 man was tipped for things when he broke through at Everton intially, and even won caps for his country with the senior squad in the process.
Bolton and Sunderland fans, what do you think to this? Does Rodwell deserve a move like this? Let us know in the comments!
